Bill Payne for Select Board – Leadership with Integrity and Accountability

I’m committed to serving the people of Danby. Contributing to the place you live is important, and I’m eager to do my part.

This is how I will make a difference…
I pledge to:
Listen – I believe meaningful change starts with understanding people’s needs before taking action. My pledge is to listen respectfully to you and your concerns.
Learn – With important decisions ahead for our town I will use my analytical skills to learn as much as I can to help the board make the best decisions based on data and research. I work with engineers, supply chain, finance, and more. I do analysis and test design, and make decisions based on the data. There is no way to know everything – so as a team we talk, I ask questions, I listen and learn. I’ll use this strategy as a select board member.
Lead – I’ll lead the effort to help the board make good decisions based on data and knowledge gained from listening to community using skills honed over 35 years.
Listen. Learn. Lead. That’s my commitment.
About
I am a Principal Engineer with a focus on antenna and microwave design. I have decades of experience leading complex projects with large budgets.
I believe town government should prioritize transparency, respect, and thoughtful decision-making. Danby voters do best when they can make informed decisions.
No matter the issue, I will bring years of experience, a thoughtful and informed approach, and a commitment to transparency, respect, and accountability. I will listen to all perspectives and share my reasoning openly.
For nearly a century, my family has owned a one-room schoolhouse in Wells, VT. My childhood was filled with hunting and wandering Bald, Middle, and Haystack Mountains, and fishing in the Mettawee. I love the Taconic mountains. These connections to the land and community shape who I am and why I’m committed to helping our town.
I volunteer at a local farm regularly, and at Merck Forest & Farmland Center when I can. Most recently, helping them install over half a mile of fencing for a new sheep pasture.

In Short
I want to serve the people of Danby. No matter what issue the town faces, I will listen and learn from the community. I will be transparent about my position, and share my thoughts respectfully so you always know where I stand.
Danby voters do best when they can make informed decisions.
I believe town government should prioritize transparency, respect, and thoughtful decision-making.
